Frogtown 2028 is a speculative design project — a synthesis of ethnographic research, worldbuilding, and design fiction. The work explores possible futures for LA’s Frogtown neighborhood through a series of design artifacts. Opposite Day works with these fictions to raise questions about the future of the LA River and surrounding areas.

In recent years, dozens of community and governmental groups have begun working together to revitalize the LA River. In Frogtown, one such project will transform a contaminated industrial lot into a community park and greenspace. Opposite Day hopes to spur discussion around the ways in which such development will affect river-adjacent communities.
